PLOUGH SHEAR MIXER, SHEAR PLOUGHING, MIXING
The Umang Plough shear mixer operates on a mixing principal which incorporates the steady ploughing motion of the primary shaft blades as well as high speed choppers. This is one the most effective and versatile mixing systems available for solids mixing, solid-liquid mixing, homogenizing, blending, granulation and drying of industrial materials providing high mixing quality within short duration.

Our Plough Shear Mixer is designed for heavy duty blending of both dry and wet materials. The pointed plough shaped blades mounted on a central shaft easily penetrate dense powder or pasty masses.

The overlapped mixing motion of the ploughs coupled with their shape and the speed of the ploughs produces good mixing action. But this is only part of the mixing action of this design which also incorporates he use of high speed choppers which enter on the side of the mixer barrel and intensify the mixing action.

It is provided in both batch and continuous designs to match the client application.

This is a horizontal mixing system with a horizontal, cylindrical drum and horizontally installed mixing main shaft which passes through both of the end plates which are fitted with specially designed bearing housings and seals. Plough shear shovels are fitted on arm of the main shaft keeping minimum clearance between plough shaped element and shell wall.

Choppers
Choppers with special leak proof stuffing boxes are provided for dispersing / breaking lumps in the product by high speed shearing action during the mixing process. These choppers are either lotus type or with multiple blades depending on the application.

Jacket
Jacketing of the vessel can be provided for heating or cooling of the product.

Construction
As per clients' requirements our plough shear mixers are offered in capacities ranging from 5 to 10,000 Ltrs. gross volumes. Various metallurgies are available. We provide these mixers in explosion proof and GMP construction.
