A fluidized bed is formed when an upward flow of process air lifts small solid particles. As a result, the small particles move rapidly within the fluidized bed and ensure a very efficient heat and material exchange between the bed and fluidizing air. The temeperature in the fluidized bed is constant accross the whole height of the bed. This provides a gentle drying temperature sensitive products.
